Try using an eyebrow or thin eyeshadow brush to apply brown/charcoal shadow IN PLACE OF THE EYELINER. It turns out MUCH better looking, more natural, and doesn't smear or come off as easily in water. :]Favorite brand of eye liner?

I hated using liquid eyeliners too as well as stick eyeliners. My friend recommended Bobbi Brown gel eyeliner. Its like liquid eyeliner, but a lot more thicker so its easier to apply. It works great! Mac has something like it as well so try bobbi brown gel eyeliner or mac gel eyeliner.

Almay has great eyeliners.
I use the black mac eyeshadow and an angled brush and apply it like that, it goes on better and stays on all day. I like it better than a pencil.
